Gregory Alan Cox, age 60, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Reid Health.Born September 30, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, to Gerald and Irene Daugherty Cox, Greg was a life-long resident of Centerville and Richmond. He was a graduate of Richmond High School, class of 1974. Greg worked for the Richmond Gas Company for many years and most recently enjoyed driving a semi. He was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. Greg was a loving father, brother, and son. He enjoyed fishing, auto racing, and spending time with his family and friends. Greg was a friendly face and was always willing to talk to people. He never met a stranger.Survivors include his children, Lindsay Cox and companion, Jerry Weiss of Ridgeville, Indiana, son, Drew Cox and wife, Carrie of Atlanta, Georgia, and their mother, Kimberly Ann Eikenberry Cox of Liberty, Indiana; granddaughters, Olivia, Kyleigh, McKenzie, and Lila; mother, Irene Cox of Richmond; sister, Gerene Cox of Durham, North Carolina; brother, Dale Cox of Richmond; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends, including longtime companion, Judy Abner of Richmond.He was preceded in death by his father and grandson, Jerry W. Weiss.Visitation for Gregory Alan Cox will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. H. Lynn Seagraves officiating.
